Founder's Day and
Independence Day 2023
Our
school celebrated Founder's Day and Lebanese Independence Day on
Wednesday 22 November 2023. The program started at 2.00 PM with the
national anthem and an opening prayer. The director then delivered his
message on both occasions reminding students that many people lost their
independence and nationhood in history. The wonderful Syrian Orphanage
in Jerusalem was lost because of war. The only way for humanity is to
adhere to democratic principles, the rule of constitutional law, and
equal rights to all. Peace is the only way for prosperity and
development. War brings nothing but death, destruction, and suffering to
all parties. This is why the mission of JLSS is peace education. He
called all JLSS students to reject all forms of war and to be
ambassadors of peace wherever they go.
The program then followed with music, singing, poetry, dance, and
sketches. The students performed exceptionally well reflecting their
creativity and happiness. It was very clear that so much hard work was
put in preparation. The decoration of the stage was creative and
beautiful. It was a great joy to finally hear JLSS children singing
correctly to the tunes of songs. This is the fruit of the hard work of
our music teacher, Mr. Joe Haddad whom we thank and congratulate. He
succeeded where others had failed. The whole program was a great joy to
everyone.
We thank all our students and teachers for the wonderful celebration of
both occasions.
